Our Little Fish!

Getting ready for the pool, Drew is yelling at me not to take pictures!

No, not crying, yelling at me not to take his picture!

Drew swimming!!

Go Blake!

Blake going down the stairs...a favorite activity!

Blake with Buzz- my camera was foggy from the humidity!

Drew holding Buzz and Woody- we never leave home without them!
I told him to pose and show me his outfit!

Drew, now he feels like getting his picture taken!

Last year both boys LOVED the pool at the Lake and our little pool we had in our backyard. The boys have also always loved their bathtime. However, things changed a little this year. Blake was initally afraid of the big pool at the Lake, but was quickly convinced that it was more fun to be in the pool than out. Drew, well Drew...as mentioned on a previous entry that Drew likes the pool or bath when HE wants to like it. This year, up until last Friday he wouldn't voluntarily go in, he would sweat on the side lines and throw in toys for others to fetch! This past weekend he went from putting his feet in, to kicking, splashing on the sidelines, to being able to SWIM/ tread water on his own! He cruised around the shallow end on his own all day Sat! The boys raced from side to side, swam to the stair and practiced going in and out an their own!

We think a big part of the problem was their life jackets they had on- they would move up around their necks when they would get in the pool. We will keep those for boat rides! We love our Puddle Jumpers! They are arm floaties with a band around the torso to give them freedom and movement, without sliding off their arms like regular floaties! Thanks for the info Aunt Jill!!

New problem...for the past week or so, Drew has been protesting baths! Ahhhh! He yells "BUGS!" at any piece of fuzz or speck on the floor or in the bathtub! No matter what we say to convince him that it is in deed NOT a bug, he is sure it is! Up until recently, I could convince him to sit and cooperate for a quick bath, but lately he is not having any part of it! Luckily, he got a bath in chlorine this weekend in the pool, and when we got home from the Lake, Blake splashed and played with the toys while Drew kicked and screamed refusing to get in! We sponge bathed him on the edge of the tub! We told him the bugs would get him if he was dirty, but it didn't work! We tried giving Buzz and Woody (whom he is obsessed with) a bath, but he didn't care. I am hoping to get some tub crayons that will entice him to participate in bathtime again. We shall see! It's only been 2 baths he refused- one day I attempted twice! It's been less than a week, but seems like a month!

Since I've been telling him when he yells, "BUGS!" at fuzz on the carpet, that it isn't a bug, it's "fuzz". He now brings me specks of fuzz and says, "fuzz". I greatfully, say, "Thank you for finding the fuzz, Baby!". He's my little mother hen, keeping an eye on Blake and Bugs! I have to admit I don't like bugs much myself!
