The boys wrestling and laughing! It's great entertainment for everyone!
Black Friday I was on a mission to find child friendly ornaments that the boys could call their own. I found about 10 and put them in a box with Santa on it. They love to play with the ornaments (try to put them on the tree), dump and fill the box, and scatter them all over the living room! They've had "their ornaments" for about a week, so they know when I say get "your ornaments" what I am talking about. So, since they were introduced to "their ornaments" we put the tree up Saturday and had it up a couple days without the ornaments to ease them into the newness of the tree. They love pretending to blow out the lights (we have a remote to turn the lights on and off) and briefly touch the branches. So, Monday we put ornaments on the tree. Since then they love to check them all out and say "Wow!" and "Pretty", they are right! It's so fun to see the tree and all the Christmas decorations through their eyes! It makes all the work so much more worth it! It's been a couple of days and surprisingly they've done great! When I tell them they are Mommy's ornaments go play with yours, they usually go get one of theirs and start filling and dumping the Santa box. The ornament situation however, doesn't stop our Blake from wanting to go behind the tree to pull the blinds open or check out the cords! Hopefully by the weekend it'll be old news!
