Drew very excited to get a puppy, he likes to tell her "No bite, Bella!!"
Blake is IN LOVE!!
He is a natural animal lover...he was telling her to "sit and stay"
Sunday night!
Our newest addition has arrived! We picked her up on the way home from Shelbina Sunday. I had a whole list of stuff I wanted to do before we picked her up on Monday, but Kyle asked if I wanted to pick her up on the way home instead. I immediately threw that list of to do's off (knowing it will eventually get done, because it always does) and decided to get that bundle of fur! We were so anxious to see the boys faces when we brought her home.
We got a plan together and within an hour we picked up our new 9 week old goldendoodle! I sat in the hatch to hide her from the boys. Kyle told the boys I would meet them at the house (Blake had one eye on me from his carseat). Bella slept the whole way home. Aunt Jill and Mike met us at our house, while they were in the bathroom, Mike and I put her in a bag. The boys were so excited when Kyle told them Santa left an early Christmas present. They were hugging and giving high fives to each other!
When they peeked in the bag- their expression was PRICELESS!! It is worth all of the extra work to see Blake beam every time he lays eyes on her. Drew likes her too, however he could probably live without her. Blake insists she is "gorgeous" and that she is "Blake's doggie" (Drew doesn't argue). They both like to play with her, give her treats and root her on as she is being potty trained. She is really very smart and we already taught her "sit"! The boys don't like it when Bella bites on their clothes or their toys, they've learned quick how to redirect her to her toys! It has also helped for them to pick up their stuff so she won't get to it!! They like to show her how to use the potty and with all the hype Sunday night they still managed to run upstairs to their potty to do all kinds of business #1 and #2!!
Right now Bella likes to sleep (which I don't mind a bit). She was already crate trained (Thank GOODNESS) and can sleep through the night without needing to go outside!! I was expecting more sleepless nights, but I was pleasantly surprised with this adorable pooch!! I have been putting her in her crate when the boys take their nap and during the busy times of the day, when I can't watch her.
Her name...we spent lots of time trying to think of a name for her before we got her. I knew that they had named her Bella at the breeder, but since she was so little we could change it. They named her that after a family member who had the same birthday as the litter- she was the chosen and only one with a name. We liked Bella, we were just trying to come up with a name that was "different". Well, when I picked her up Sunday night the lady said, "Merry Christmas, Bella". She also seemed to respond to it, we weren't sure how much they actually used the name, but it seemed like enough. I guess we said Bella to her Sunday night to see if she responded to it and the boys picked it up right away. So we thought...Bella it is! It is kind of a Christmas name and she does look like a "Bella"! She's so bouncy and quiet you don't even her her feet on the hardwood or tile floors! More pics to come!! Merry Christmas!!
Their 1st peek at their puppy!!
