We Are 1 1/2 Years Old!

Drew & Blake are 1 1/2 years old! They are saying more each day, they understand about 90% of what we say (very scary) and are very, very busy boys! They received an A++ from our Parents As Teachers lady last week and showed off all of their personality for her! I wonder if they remembered her from the spring? They talked for her, she asked them to id body parts, follow directions, etc. She said that they understand a lot more than she expects from a 1 1/2 year old! The other day I told Drew to put the scarecrow in front of the fireplace and he did! I was floored! We introduced the boys to their very own "pottys" this week! And boy, do they love to sit and watch Seasame Street on them! We have them out so they can sit and get used to them before we do "serious" potty training farther down the road, they are currently living room furniture. Here are some pics of them getting ready for bed on their pottys! Drew quickly claimed the red one as his and Blake coincidentally got the blue one! BLUE for Blake! Blake has caught up with Drew in the teeth department- they each have 12! 8 more to go!! Thank goodness!!

Blake loves the cat and the dog. Cleo is much more passive and agreeable to whatever attention Blake wants to give her, good or bad. He likes to gently pull her tail (rarely) and loves to hug and lay on her. His favorite thing to do is push Cleo around the dining room in her chair! Sometimes he annoys Tuffy and then he'll bark- Blake just barks back- attempting to imitate him! It's impossible not to laugh! He sings some of the ABC's and can count to three!

Drew has really come out of his shell. I think a lot of it has to do with his very social brother! Drew loves any sport. We got them a tee ball set for being "paci free" and Drew was shown how to hold and swing a bat once and picked it up! (Blake holds the bat upside down and resists coaching) Drew loves to kick, jump, dance, throw (right & left), and he's great at basketball (it amazes me he throws the basketball like a pro)! Oh, and of course they both love tennis. Too bad they won't being going to Vegas with us to watch Daddy win the USTA National Championship next month!

They are such good friends and play together so well. Of course there are wrestling matches, a couple biting instances, but there are more hugs and kisses. They love to go to Costco and sit in the cart next to each other so they can hug and kiss periodically as we go through the store. Needless to say that draws even more attention to us! They are such hams!

They had their 18 month check up today and we are excited that we don't have to go back until we are 2!
Note- I am glad I had a witness with me at the doctor's office today (Grandma Debbe- or as Drew says , "Maw Maw"). The nurse measured the boys twice and the doctor measured again only to confirm that Drew is BIGGER than Blake! What??? Daddy still questions it, but I saw it with my own eyes 3 times! We weren't surprised Drew weighed more than Blake, but height? It's only a smidge difference, but it's enough to count!
The latest stats on our tall & thin little boys:
Drew: weight 24 1/2 lbs.         31%
          height  33 1/2 inches     83%
          head    47.7cm             48%

Blake: weight 23 1/4 lbs.        16%
           height 33 1/3 inches     80%
           head   47.4cm             39%

Happy 1 & 1/2 birthday Boys! They are looking so grown up. I hope that they are good potty trainers for you guys, it's one of my least favorite phases even though Kaitlyn was pretty easy but the reward of no more diapers is so nice! Going to Vegas for Kyles tennis tournement sounds like a blast! Have you ever been? It's like nowhere else, and at lest you'll get to enjoy some nice weather when you're there when we'll probably be getting rained on or perhaps even snowed on. How do you think you'll handle beeing 1800 miles away from your boys?
