Bye, bye pacifiers!!

We have been officially pacifier free for a almost 2 weeks! I have been asked several times, "How did you do it?" Well, as crazy as this may sound...the Farmer's Almanac! I have never even opened an almanac, but my family up north "in the country" swear by it! They went into way more details then I could comprehend. I thought it was just something to look back at to predict the weather?! They insisted that it works and live by it. So, being new to this whole "parent" thing some advice I take and others I leave. This I really thought I would leave, but something in the back of my mind said, "Hey what does it hurt?" Since I was at the library anyway checking out the Baby Whisperer for Toddlers (I am sure it will take me till Christmas to read)  I would just check this almanac thing out. I wrote the dates down that were actually listed for "child weaning". A month or so later (yes, I am still working on the book), I had received some frantic texts from Kyle asking me where the pacifiers were. Unfortunately, I was not able to located the pacis via text while getting my hair done. So, on my way home I thought enough with the pacis! The boys threw them, hid them, and it was becoming annoying. They really had been using them just to chew on during naps and bedtime anyways, so hey what they heck lets give it a whirl. After I got home from my hair appt I looked up the dates that I had written down- it was Oct 5th...3 days away- PERFECT! So, I took them away that morning and they have never looked for them or asked for them since! I can't say I am a believer in the almanac now, but you can bet that I am going to refer to it for other big events coming up and see what happens. The more the moon and stars and history I have on my side the better! I need all the help I can get!

Thats kindof neat. Used to drive me crazy looking for pacifiers, I wanted to invent one that came with a remote that would make it beep and light up when you were looking for it. I thought the Almanac was mainly for weather predictions based on past events for farmers to help with their crops. Good to know. Does it tell you what day to put them on the potty and never have to use a diaper again? Kiera loves to potty on the potty, but we aren't that close yet, still diapers for at least another couple months I'd say. What are the boys going to be for halloween?

I'm not sure about potty dates. I will check down the road. We are just introducing the potty here (more in an upcoming post). They boys are going to be spiders- what are the girls going to be and what are your Halloween plans?

Cute pics of the boys. Glad they get along so well. Being a twin myself I know that bond. Hope it stays that way. My mom always said the first few months were a handful with twins, but after a year it was easier having two. Mainly keeping one another company, playing together, etc. You dont have to worry about alot of play dates etc because they always have someone to play with. Has that easier time come for you and Kyle???? I remember when I was in elementary school I didn't care about being alone friends and stuff because you always paired up with your sister. When people say they have a best friend, it took me awhile to wonder why it wasn't a family member, mine was always my sister. I was broken hearted when a friend of mine said there twin girls couldn't be in the same school class. I remember the fun of being in the same class. In my elementary school there were 8 sets of twins in my grade level and only 4 class rooms they would have had to do a jugling act. To keep us all apart.
