We are 2 1/2!!

We are 2 1/2 how did that happen!? It's been such a fun and challenging 2 1/2 years! Every age/stage is more fun than the last with different challenges. he boys are going potty (mostly Blake) when there is a treat as a bribe. We still haven't pushed the issue with all of the transitions going on around here...maybe after the holidays!?

The boys are talking up a storm- they have quite a lot to say! The other night Blake fell off the couch and onto the hardwood (ouch), and I asked Drew to tell Daddy what happened. Kyle pretty much go it without help from me! The boys tell us the love us (too sweet). The other morning Blake and Daddy kept saying, "I love you too!" back and forth before Daddy left for work. I hope this part of this stage doesn't end (not holding my breath). Along with this phase, Blake had a few days of loving to say, "Go away!" (with a hand swat in the air) -luckily, I haven't heard that phrase in awhile.

Blake is a flirt- he has a new girlfriend, Avery- she's 4! Move over Jamison, hello Avery! We live in "girl alley" and their are lots of future babysitters and girlfriends....hello trouble! Blake has never been shy, but he's definately a ladies man! Drew, on the other hand would love to show you his tennis swing, golf stroke, or talk to you about sports. He's even tried to convince me to turn the Tennis Channel on TV- (I think Daddy has brainwashed him- ha!).

The boys have been in a cooking class at Parkway for the last few weeks- they are becoming quite the cooks! They love to cook in their lil' kitchen in their playroon and will BBQ anything we request! Of course, it's accompained with ketchup! They both LOVE ketchup- they will dip just about anything in it!

We start soccer in a few weeks and are looking very forward to burning off lots of energy with our friends! I can't wait- I'm so excited they will have something to do during the winter when it's too cold to play outside!

Our newest thing is....the toddler bed! Ahhhh! The beds are soo cute, but waaay overrated! We took the plunge Sunday night. My theory was right- the short rail is just more inviting to get out of bed and I would've bet money that their dresser would be emptied (it was Monday night)! I have out smarted them, by leaving their dresser empty. However, they have decided to remove the outlet plugs in their room and play with the blinds (maybe sending a sign for help from the window...or making an escape??) Well, we are on day 4 they are getting more used to the new bed. They sleep all night once they are in the bed- sometimes Drew falls asleep on the floor, but he is in his bed when we go to bed. They think they are "big boys" and are looking forward to seeing Toy Story 3 this weekend as a reward that we survived....Kyle and I want to see it more than they do! Currently, they are obsessed with the movie Cars!! I remind myself....that "this too shall pass"!
Drew & Blake sleeping in their toddler beds for the 1st night...ahhhhh
No more babies..

Napping on our bed- notice Drew and his "case" (it's full of Hot Wheels)

After night 2 of their new beds..the entire dresser emptied (as Blake would say..."Ooooooh, NICE!")

Making muffins...we learned what "burnt" was since Mommy lost track of time while cleaning up the previous picture- oooops!

Daddy reading before heading to "night-night" in their new beds

Blake "Buzz" excited about his new bed

Drew "Woody" excited about his new bed!! "Yee-haw"

The boys got their flu shots today. We were running a few minutes behind since Drew was packing his "case" full of cars and a bucket full of trains to take in with him. He looked like he was going to the airport! I chose not to tip him off since I knew he was in for a shot. We were happily surprised that they were eligible for the flu mist since they are 2.The mist is much better and way less painful than the shot (from experience). Drew was a pro at the doctors office and got the "cooperation" award (we were surprised)- he even opened his mouth and said, "Ahhh" like he'd done it before! Blake was compliant, but not as eager as Drew. Drew weighed in at 30.8lbs and Blake was 29.2lbs. They were such brave lil' boys!

so how is it going with the new beds? Do they wander a lot?

It's okay...I miss the days we just threw them in their cribs and ran out of the room! ha! But, surprisingly once they are asleep they don't come out until the morning! Their door is open and they've never wandered. I was worried about that- at least it hasn't happened YET!
