Finally...an UPDATE!

We have been moving and getting adjusted the last few weeks- we are finally with internet (connection to the outside world) and I have a few minutes to get an update in! We are getting settled in our house and it's starting to feel like a home! It's so nice to just have a place to call "home"- some of the things we missed were overhead lighting in the bedrooms, our furniture, Direct TV and TIVO, a desktop (although it's as slow as molasses), and not having to walk my trash down the street. Those are the first things that come to mind! I also missed the boys room being all decorated with their pictures and memorabilia- their room is the only room completed and they love it! It's decorated in airplanes!!

The first night they slept here surprisingly Blake had no problems going to bed- he was out without a peep. Drew, surprised us and did not want to sleep in his bed, so we didn't fight it knowing that it was a new environment. Blake woke up the next morning, climbed out of bed and walked out of his room. He stood at the top of the stairs and said, "Mommy?" in the cutest little voice! I jumped out of bed (not wanting him to freak out), he looked at me and said, "Drew, where are you?"! I was so shocked- he acted like he'd lived here all his life! Drew jumped out of our bed to greet him! It's been almost 2 weeks since that first night and now they are both pros in their new routine.

I haven't had to follow them around the house as much as I had expected. They frequently play upstairs together or 1 will be downstairs and the other will be upstairs playing separately. They haven't thrown too many toys from the banister and we've only had a couple mishaps on the stairs. Knock on wood, the only thing we've childproofed is the fireplace hearth. Sidenote, it has helped that we have a surveillance camera in their playroom so we can just change the setting and it will pop up on our TV (Thank you Gma and Paw Paw)- it's a lifesaver! It's also fun to watch their reaction when they see their brother on TV.

Being out of transition mode is nice, almost all of the boxes are unpacked! We've met a few neighbors, but it will take awhile to meet everyone and feel truly at home. We still feel like when we pull in the subdivision we are just "driving by" waiting and watching the progress.
