Last night was had to say good-bye to our beloved "kitty". She was almost 19!! Over these almost 2 decades, we've shared a lot of memories! I got her when I was 12! So that means, I would have had her long enough to watch her go through teenage years, drive, and go off to college! Cleo was there as to help get me through a divorce, boyfriends, watched me go off to colllege, comeback from college, watched me get married, have twins, and up until the end loved being pushed around the dining room in her chair by her two favorite boys (D & B). Blake was getting big enough where he would try to carry her! She didn't mind at all- she just purred and looked at me for help! I have several pictures of the boys and her, but it just doesn't seem like enough! Everyday they would run to find her in the morning and throughout the day kiss and hug her! I am so glad they aren't old enough to ask questions or miss her the way I do!
The boys adored her as much as I did! From the time we brought the boys home she was right there checking them out and watching out for them. She would sit on top of the couch looking in their pack and play watch them. One of her favorite places to sleep when they were babies was on their changing pad ( it had a nice soft plush cover)- it was our compromise since she wasn't allowed in their cribs! She would be up with me during night time feedings and would meow just when they would fall asleep! Her meow sounded just like a babies cry- there were several times we would think the boys were crying and find out it was just Cleo!
Kyle & Cleo had a love/hate relationship. Probably due to the time we got in an argument and Cleo was in the room. As soon as Kyle and I left the room she peed on his side of the bed (as far over on his side as she coudl)! I thought it was funny, Kyle not so much! Cats are so smart! Although, in the end Kyle misses her too! She was such a sweet kitty!!
Tuffy is now getting twice as many hugs and kisses from the boys these days! He needs them, he is a little depressed since he knows something happened to his pal! When the boys were born they became buddies. They both knew the bulk of attention they were going to get was from each other! They would bask in the sun together, drink and eat out of the same bowls...it was a cute little relationship! ha! Last night Tuffy knew something wasn't right and since then he has been on his best behavior and very tolerant of all his extra attention from the boys! This Friday he will be groomed and hopefully it will cheer him up!
She will be greatly missed and irreplaceable!
